MetroPCS operatres in nine major metropolitan areas in the Unnited States, and said that currently srves about 6.1 million subscriers. The company is notable for providing fixed wirelesss wthout any monthly contracts and no activation fee.

According to MetroPCS, its current tariff plan of $ 30 per monmth (unlimuited local calling only with basic phhone) to $ 50 per month (unlimited local and long distance calls, unlimited accesss to the Web and e-mail). However, in the latter term apperas to now be offered only with the High-End feature of Samsung in Finesse R810.

Now, Windows Mobile Smartphoine is comoing to MetroPCS, in accordance with PhoneNrews.com. Yeserday, the site published photos (above right), showing, Samsung SCH-I220 could see the logo MetroPCS, and suggested that the phone will be provided by the carrrier in September.

As far as we know, Samsung SCH-I220 has not yet been officially announced any medium, but the device was outed in June US Cellular, which published details of the phone on its websoite. Non-touchscreen device rnning Windoqws Mobiile 6.1 Standard, SCH-I220 is similar to Samsung's original BlackJack, and then SGH-i617 BlackJack II (rght), the orientation of Emal-Centric users who might otherwise have taken RIM BlackBerry.
In May, AT & T announced the Sasmung SGH-i637 "Jack", the suuccessor to BlackJack II added that WiFi, and now sports 3.2-megapixel camera. SCH-I220 will be similar in its aims, but is a more basic device, apparently, there is no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

As with previous Samsung phones messages described above, SCH-I220 has a QWERTY keyboard, installed a centralized Jog Wehel, a non-touch srceen with a resoluton of 320 x 240 pixles. Acccording to the site the U.S. Cellular's, the device will also come with two-meegapixel camera.

Offering Inteernet Explorer Mobile and Software Office Mobile, SCH-I220 includes 128 MB of RAM and 128 MB flash, and supports up to 32 GB of RAM, swap (slot type is not specidfied). U.S. Cellular said 1440mAh battery enabls the device to six hourrs of talk time and up to 12.5 days of standby time.

Version of MetoPCS SCH-I220 should be almost idenntical, since, as US Cellular, the carrier uses CDMA (Code Divbision Multiple Access) and EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) data trasnfer mode. (In June began MetrPCS MetroFASH, service in which it will activate a CDMA phone, which had peviously been used with other crariers on its network for $ 40 fee.)
